Shaman Leveling Guide
Shamans get a bit of a bad rap. They aren’t as strong as tanks, they aren’t as fun as squishy magic users. But, if you have been thinking about trying one out, now is probably the time. This is a great secondary character for anyone looking for something different.
If you are using a shaman leveling guide, you may find it best to go out and find a group which is using a similar guide to yours. This is because shamans are not a great soloing class and may have trouble doing all of the quests on their own. It shouldn’t be too hard to find a group though, as shamans so have much to offer.
One of the down sides to being a shaman is that they are very limited race-wise. In the Alliance, you can only be a shaman if you are a Draenei, the Horde is a bit better, with Orcs, Tauren, Undead or Trolls.
When choosing your profession, you may want to think about similar professions to other squishy characters. One thing to keep in mind though, is than Shaman can wear leather armor, so a tailor is probably not the best option. I would probably recommend Herbalism/Alchemy, if I were to have a Shaman. But, if you are following a shaman leveling guide, keep in mind that having a profession is not necessarily part of the path and so it may take you longer to level than you had thought, but you have nifty profession, it is definitely a give and take.

One of the best things about Shamans are their most unique thing, their totems. You get your totems by completing Shaman quests. Each totem is assigned an individual element, such as air, earth, water, fire, etc. Each totem is used for a different purpose. You can have one totem in use from each element at any time.
For the best DPS, and therefore, the quickest leveling, I recommend you put your talent points into Enhancement. This is because of such things as Thundering Strikes, which then leads to Flurry. Flurry is absolutely essential when it comes to Shaman DPS, you would be quite silly not to go for it. Dual wield is another which is just a no brainer. I have found this to significantly increase DPS, straight after placing talent points into it. Very important for power leveling.
Also, if you are following a shaman leveling guide, you will want to get Improved Ghost Wolf. This will allow you to cast Ghost Wolf quicker and if you are soloing, get out of dodge as quickly as possible without dying.
Using a shaman leveling guide, one that is made specifically for shaman is very important. This is because you need to have it done by someone who understands the intricacies of being a shaman. This is a much different character than any other.
Are You Leveling Too Slowly? Is Your Character Poor?
If you answered yes to either of these questions, then you will want to look into Zygor’s Guides to World of Warcraft. These guides cover everything from powerleveling (1-80 in 7 days!) to gold farming to professions.
